Sifu Armando Sainz has over thirty years experience in martial arts and self-defense. Armando was the master instructor and owner of Centerline Academy of Martial Arts until he closed the school in 2009 partially due to a personal tragedy. Centerline Academy of Martial Arts was the largest all adult martial arts school in the United States during its ten year run. During this time Armando further expanded and refined what he had learned through the years. He developed a formidable martial arts method that works in self-defense situations across the board.

By keeping a real-world self-defense mentality, Armando not only fortified his stand-up fighting skills against boxer types and kickers, but he also incorporated a fully compatible concept based anti-grappling; ground fighting method. In addition, he developed a complete, street ready, practical weapons method polishing off his Innovative Wing Chun system. This system answers the question, "what if?". All sport aspect and tradition is removed in order to have completely incorruptible, scenario conscious solutions for each practitioner.

Lesson Format

All lessons are by appointment and membership is for men only. Lessons are private (one on one) with a two hour minimum and can be scheduled any day, seven days a week. Sifu Armando teaches all lessons and uses a very effective training method to maximize the transfer of skill and knowledge from teacher to student. His students achieve high level results in a very short time; faster than anywhere else. More importantly, they achieve more complete fighting skills than can be learned anywhere else.

Because of the beneficial importance of this information this training is exclusively for those who are serious and desire methodical yet personalized training in a private lesson setting. Armando will only accept the most dedicated men, with a good attitude and sincere desire to learn.

1. How practical and effective is this martial art?

- Innovative Wing Chun® is a state-of-the-art system. It is equally effective against boxers, kickers, grapplers and all around street fighter types; not to mention the common thug or mugger. The system is simple yet very deep. Everything you learn is justifiable intellectually because it is a thinking person's martial art.

2. Is this system useful to high level bodyguards or security specialists?

- Yes, Absolutely! Innovative Wing Chun® is so well thought out that even the best Navy Seal or Marine fighting systems are rendered ineffectual and seem underdeveloped in comparison. This system is completely compatible with your close-quarters, executive protection vocation. Whether armed or unarmed, you will feel confident that you can do your job.

3. Can the average guy learn and apply this system?

- Yes, Definitely! This system gives the average guy above average skills. You don't have to look the part to be the guy who can handle himself in any given situation. The need for great physical strength, speed and flexibility is removed. Sifu Armando's system is more than an equalizer. It's a maximizer.

4. What makes Innovative Wing Chun® so effective?

- Innovative Wing Chun® was designed for real street self-defense through the scientific use of the human body. It is a real world martial art and not sport oriented. Its focus is wholly on hand to hand self-defense, whether standing or on the ground, with or without weapons.

5. Do you teach self-defense against guns, knives or sticks.

- Yes! Everything we teach is reality based. Sifu Armando works very hard to insure that most any situation you might encounter is covered in the classroom under very safe learning conditions, so you will be prepared.

6. Do you teach people how to use weapons?

- Yes! Students have the opportunity to train with different types of weapons. These include the Traditional Weapons of Wing Chun (The Dragon Pole and Butterfly Knives), which are taught in order to enhance the empty hands. Also practical weapons are taught like stick, knife and gun so you will be prepared in any situation.

7. Do you teach children?

- The short answer is no. We teach only adults because this is way too sophisticated and lethal. Although we love children we don’t think this type of training is for them. We prefer to start people at a minimum age of 18. We feel that anyone who teaches children knows they have an inferior self-defense system and isn't worth learning from.

8. Can someone small or not too strong learn?

- Yes! You don’t have to be big and strong to do it. We teach students to use structural, aligned strength rather than muscular strength.

9. Is Wing Chun like any other Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do or Karate systems?

- Wing Chun is different from all other systems. These others block first and then attack. They are “technique based” systems. Ours is "concept based", with training methods that allow the practitioner to use automatic or subconscious responses.

10. Can this system be used in tournaments?

- No. It would be like bringing a canon to a carnival target shoot. In order to use it in tournaments it would have to be watered down and altered beyond measure. Much more emphasis would have to be placed on the physical or athletic, flashy attributes required in competition, not to mention the hindrance of rules in the tournament game. In street self-defense only a few seconds are required without constraint.

11. If I learn Innovative Wing Chun®, do I need to learn something else?

- No! Our system is complete and up to date.

12. How long does it take to learn?

- In as little as 6 months to a year an Innovative Wing Chun® student can yield significant advancement in his or her fighting (self-defense) ability. However, in order to become what is considered highly skilled it will take 5 to 10 years of consistent training.

13. Do I need any prior martial arts experience?

- No! Whether you have experience or not does not matter. You can learn at your pace, one on one in an edifying atmosphere while learning valuable skills.

14. Is everyone eligible for membership with you?

- No. Membership is exclusive. Only the most dedicated men, who meet all prerequisites are accepted as members. Once all requirements are met, then the applicant is permitted to join.
